Questions, Problems & Suggestions

We have tried to anticipate everything before releasing this, but are sure some things will come up. First, we ask that you please read the Background & Comments thread and The Great Texas Land Grab thread before posting a question. We tried to explain a lot in those threads.

Hopefully nothing will be broken. If it is, please give us the link and the nature of the problem. We are absolutely confident that this site will work in Microsoft Internet Explorer and are about 90% it will work in the others as well. If it doesn't, please let us know and what it does or doesn't do.

We have added a lot of features, if anyone can think of additional ones that may be nice, feel free to suggest them. We are open to suggestions, but make no promises.

We have lots of other things planned for this site, but the Map comes first. We will reveal the additional features as they become available.

Other things, there are 4 nations maps already on the map - NewTexas is still under construction in the Hill Country, Greenspoint is complete in the Gulf Coast, PAX HEARTLANDIA is under construction in the Gulf Coast as well and there is a Sample Nation in the Panhandle Plains to give Texans some ideas. Also, on all default maps (unselected ones), we know that the miscellaneous links go to NewTexas stuff. Since default nation does not exist, we had to point this somewhere and it will change once it is selected as will all the stats.

This is all we can think of initially.

The Map is here: http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/

Just a thought but upon collecting your flags ready to go onto your plots, I have noticed that quite a few are different to the avatars used here.

I intend to use the NS flags, so if you would prefer your avatar or something different then please say so.

Thank you.

I'm having a problem when I try to pull up my national map. It locks up and doesn't load. Is it me or is there a problem with the map?

Hmmm well it seems to load fine for me from work (where I'm not supposed to be logging in from anyway) but at home the map just won't open. I'll have to spend some time fiddling with my Firefox settings I guess, or checking cookies or something.

Once again I seem to be unable to open my national map. This seems to only happen after the Data on the map page has been editted. Any thoughts?

I still can not pull up any tier three maps... mine, or Pax's or CVCC's or even any of the empty non-claimed ones...

The site has undergone mopre changes today than it has int the previous several weeks. We are constantly uploading and deleting stuff. Now none of this "should" affect the site, but perhaps the provider is doing something.

We are still looking into it.

It appears to have sorted itself out Jmac. We do not know what that was about.

Question: What is the scale on the maps? Also I notice that some of the land parcels are larger ( or are drawn that way ) than others.

Bad Answer: Good question Lady Shal! We are not sure that is known quite yet. The state is 770 miles East to West. It is 800 miles North to South. Where we are going with this, we are not sure. We will defer to our more Cartographically-inclined partners. PAX, CV, Ineptia?

*Passes buck towards CV and Ineptia*

The land parcels are all of various sizes, for your national needs, some people like to think of their nations as small (Ignoring the NS population sizes), whilst others like big nations. So we made different sizes and shapes and that way you choose what you like and you have more choice.

Might I suggest that though my, (and our) great home state of Texas is awesomely big, that even it is not big enough to hold some 250 plus nations.

Since Texas is a state of mind - might this suggestion be of use- let each nation decide what their scale is.

If you'd like some size comparrisons ..well just take a look at Houston ( or as it's no count detractors like to say ) the blob that ate east Texas. It's bigger than some European countries. ( I won't name names as I don't want to embarrass any one )

Hey, works for us!

We even had to put a disclaimer about the "time-space continuum" on our map page...
